Accommodation

Once registered with IDRAC Business School you will be given access to an online platform to help you find the accommodation that suits you the best.

IDRAC Business School is a partner of HousingAnywhere.com, the international student-to-student housing platform. Students who are coming from abroad to our campuses can find & book a student room on www.HousingAnywhere.com. The rooms on this platform are offered by students that go abroad for a study abroad semester, exchange, Erasmus or internship. Using the platform itself is completely free for you as a student; when you make a concrete booking an administrative fee will be charged as a part of Housing Anywhere’s secure booking system.

Insurance

For non-European students, registration to the French student social security in addition to their home international insurance is compulsory.

As an IDRAC Business School student international students can benefit from the same Social Security coverage as French students. The Student Social Security provides access to basic care. The amount of the registration is about 220€.

Complemented by an additional private health insurance, it will cover almost all healthcare expenses.

Moreover, IDRAC Business School provides students with a list of English speaking doctors, dentists, and specialists.

Student life

Live your passions and dreams

This is the IDRAC Community leitmotif : An immediate and practical application of what you have been taught in class.
A school is not evaluated on its academic quality alone. The quality of its social life is also a determining factor.
At IDRAC, all students are free to join one (or more) of the existing student associations and club projects, (and are welcome to create new ones) such as :

  • a non-profit organization
  • a sailing race
  • a photo exhibition
  • a Cultural trip to China,
  • the yearly Gold trophy
  • the Oenology club
  • the Finance club

All projects are managed by the students and with the support of the IDRAC Administration.
Our values : To Believe in the potential of each individual, develop and provide each student the opportunity to :

  • Commit to an associative project
  • Live memorable experiences with other students
  • Be part of the action
  • Be yourself, be unique
  • Accept differences, overcome difficulties
  • Be responsible
  • Manage a team

Study In France

About the academic calendar

The academic year is divided into two semesters:

  • fall or first semester starts in September and ends in late December or early January
  • spring or second semester starts in January or February and lasts until May or June

Examination periods are planned in the last weeks of each semester.

During summer, IDRAC Business School students usually undertake in-company placements.

About the teaching system

IDRAC Business School uses the ECTS system. “ECTS credits express the volume of learning based on the defined learning outcomes and their associated workload. 60 ECTS credits are allocated to the learning outcomes and associated workload of a full-time academic year.”

In France, the workload for a given subject comprises a large proportion of lectures and seminar which means that you will probably sit more that you’re used to in classrooms. An average IDRAC Business School student week includes 20 to 25 hours of class.

IDRAC Business School teaching staff is formed by both academic teachers and business specialists which is a major strength of the school.
Most often, they don’t require students to get textbooks or to do some compulsory reading. However, they can provide a recommended reading list.

About the grading systems

Subjects taught at IDRAC Business School are graded on a 0 (lower grade) to 20 (higher grade) scale.
The passing grade for a subject is 10.

It is usually said that in France “20 is for God, 19 is for the King and 18 is for the President, so 17 is the maximum grade a student can attain”…
In practice, grades higher than 15 are very seldom awarded and 14 is considered very good.

You’ll find below, the grading system as used by IDRAC Business School:

At the end of your stay, you will receive a transcript of records which will describe the educational components taken, the number of ECTS credits achieved as well as the grades awarded.

About examination

Grades are often posted publicly with students’ names on bulletin boards at the end of the semester.

Even though taken into account and compulsory, attendance does not formally count for the grade. Most subjects lead to marks formed by the combination of continuous assessment and final exams.
