About the teaching system
IDRAC Business School uses the ECTS system. “ECTS credits express the volume of learning based on the defined learning outcomes and their associated workload. 60 ECTS credits are allocated to the learning outcomes and associated workload of a full-time academic year.”
In France, the workload for a given subject comprises a large proportion of lectures and seminar which means that you will probably sit more that you’re used to in classrooms. An average IDRAC Business School student week includes 20 to 25 hours of class.
IDRAC Business School teaching staff is formed by both academic teachers and business specialists which is a major strength of the school.
Most often, they don’t require students to get textbooks or to do some compulsory reading. However, they can provide a recommended reading list.
Most subjects lead to marks formed by the combination of continuous assessment and final exams.
About the grading systems
Subjects taught at IDRAC Business School are graded on a 0 (lower grade) to 20 (higher grade) scale.
The passing grade for a subject is 10.
It is usually said that in France “20 is for God, 19 is for the King and 18 is for the President, so 17 is the maximum grade a student can attain”…
In practice, grades higher than 15 are very seldom awarded and 14 is considered very good.
